All Star/Champion Pass Expectations We have always offered free passes to All Star and Champion level dancers at Swingtacular, and we have always been happy to. With that said, we have had quite a few All Star and Champion level dancers ask what we expect in exchange for this pass, which we greatly appreciate. Our answer in the past has always been something to the effect of: "Social dance your face off, make a bunch of people's weekend, and be your awesome self." This answer is, and always will be, applicable at Swingtacular. With that said, we have added a couple of small expectations to the list over the years...
Westie Welcome Program We are allowing up to 40 people in to Swingtacular FOR FREE... These individuals can only qualify for this pass if they have NEVER been to a full weekend WCS convention before. This means that we want to make them feel as welcome (thus the name) as humanly possible. We would like for our All Star and Champion level dancers that we comp into the event to attend the "Westie Welcome Crash Course", and/or at least one "Level 1" class throughout the weekend. The level one classes should include many of our Westie Welcome dancers as well. To be clear, we do NOT expect any of you to teach during any of these classes. We expect you to be there as an experienced dancer and friendly personality to help support the journey that the designated teacher is guiding them through. All Galactic Power Hour (High/Low Mixer) All Stars/Champions Jack & Jill or "Peer Vote" Invitational Simple. Do them! Thanks. "Peer Vote" Invitational JnJ note: If you weren't aware, we also encourage All Star & Champion Level dancers to try their hands on the "Peer Vote" Invitational ballot (Non-WSDC). We know it can be hard to figure out what division to dance in sometimes, so we developed a way that people could attempt the higher division without losing out on opportunities if you don't make it. Everyone that signs up (for free) will be put on the ballot for the vote. Leaders will be voting for their top Followers, and Followers will be voting for their top Leaders. The "Peer Vote" results will be tabulated a few weeks before the event. If you make the "Peer Vote" final, you can't dance in All Stars/Champs. However, if you don't make the "Peer Vote" final, you CAN still dance in All Stars/Champs. Just upside. No missed opportunity.
